Borderlands Hamachi Networks and Tunngle Communities List

Sunday, October 25, 2009

-=-Note: It seems that the game cannot be played directly through Hamachi. If there are any mods developed, it may be possible. But I dont know whether there are any mods developed for this. If I get to know about some mod, I will post about that mod here. However, you can use the networks to chat between yourselves.

Refer to the comments on this page to know some solutions to play Borderlands on Hamachi. GL! HF!

This page is for sharing the Hamachi Networks and Tunngle Communities for the game BorderLands. The game is set to release on 26th of October 2009. The game has co-operative multi-player and Multiplayer modes. It is designed on Unreal Engine 3 as said at wikipedia. No matter how many you create the networks will be full in hours. So lets share some of  them here,

These Hamachi networks are with password 1.
  1. BorderLands
  2. borderlands_1
  3. borderlands_2
  4. borderlands_3
  5. borderlands_4
Make sure that you type the network name in same cases, the name is case sensitive. Also, share your networks here as a comment below. This will keep the network chain active. Join only one active network and try to keep it active. Leave the network if it goes inactive. This may make it fresh network again.

More about BorderLands is available at Wikipedia: Borderlands. Official Website is here - Borderlands.

how do you get borderlands to work over hamachi

Anonymous October 26, 2009 8:58 AM

It doesn't work over hamachi.

UCLASeraph October 26, 2009 1:49 PM

Damn, someone needs to program some stuff to make this game work with hamachi

Anonymous October 26, 2009 7:27 PM

Are you sure that this does not work on hamachi?

Anonymous October 26, 2009 7:28 PM

How did you all feel the game?

Anonymous October 26, 2009 8:35 PM

if you want to play download and install hamachi 1.0.1.5

Anonymous October 26, 2009 10:41 PM

Doesn't work with the newest version of hamachi nor 1.0.1.5, don't bother. Tried all the tricks up my sleeve but nothing has worked, my friend cannot join my games nor i his.

Anonymous October 26, 2009 11:18 PM

is there any console ingame?

Anonymous October 27, 2009 12:59 AM

so how do you make it work?

Anonymous October 27, 2009 1:16 AM

ive only been able to make borderlands work using a program called tunngle

go to tunngle.net/eu workd for every game ive tried it with

Anonymous October 27, 2009 4:44 AM

You won´t need anything like Hamachi or Tunngle, because you can play it online normally. Just create a Gamespy-Account and log in.

Anonymous October 27, 2009 11:38 AM

i think that it is common knowledge how terrible gamespy is, i would assume the purpose of this discussion is to avoid using it

Anonymous October 27, 2009 2:19 PM

also to get gamespy to work id have to buy the game....

Anonymous October 27, 2009 6:06 PM

lmfao try it we tryed all these shit VPN's for so long and just went online with gamespy worked fine. you don't need their client either

Anonymous October 27, 2009 9:07 PM

Works over hamachi, i have 1.0.3.0 (hamachi). Played with my friend successfully for 3 hours straight.

Anonymous October 27, 2009 11:16 PM

doesn't work here with ham 1.0.3.0

Anonymous October 28, 2009 2:35 AM

Hello guys.
It works with Hamachi (version 1.0.3.0 at least).

We have succesfully played a LAN Co-op tonight.
We had a lot of troubles at first though.

It helped when we opened the router ports assigned to the game;

7777 both
28900 tcp
27900 udp
28910 tcp
28902 both

Try it out. It might help quite a few out there.

Remember to check your firewall exeptions for the game and hamachi.

Anonymous October 28, 2009 9:36 AM

Why are you guys using such an old version of hamachi? 2.0.1.64 is the new version. Im opening ports right now i'll let you know if it works.

Natas October 28, 2009 10:59 AM

i can't get it to work and i've tried everything it even times me out in online play any ideas why i can't connect?

Anonymous October 28, 2009 10:29 PM

dudes i found sth out !
u dont need hamachi, just make a gamespy account
go ingame, try to host a server, invite ur friend (private online server)
if it doesnt work, switch to windows
if u have windows firewall turned off, switch it on ! then switch it off ! go back ingame invite ur friend again and it works! everytime i close the game i have to do that! btw i have the ports opened, but i dont think u have to do that

Anonymous October 29, 2009 7:55 AM

That didn't work

Anonymous October 29, 2009 1:50 PM

yeah because i forgot sth. after u did that.. when u switch back in game.. both users exit back to the main menu, then press online play and make a new private server..
it sounds impossible, but with that way, it works fine for me..
give feedback if it works for u guys

Anonymous October 30, 2009 12:48 AM

That doesn't work for me. Tried it in all sorts of ways :(

Anonymous October 30, 2009 6:31 AM

OMG!
We spent 2 days experimenting, and it's easier than u think...

borderlands.exe "server IP"

and enter

if there is a connection problem, than u can try your router config (port forward,
firewall, or network settings.

In most cases port forwarding is only needed for the server.

It worked with all Hamachi versions, and LAN, //console is not needed to IPconnect,
but we're working on it//.

Anonymous October 30, 2009 8:21 AM

what does that mean? ^ borderlands.exe"serverip" and enter? where what do you mean? little more detail please.

Anonymous October 30, 2009 12:43 PM

OMG I'm dieing to be able to play let me know the secrets!!!!! lol

viper October 30, 2009 4:39 PM

i think he mean the borderlands shortcut on you desktop. right-klick an than tipe the host-ip after borderlands.exe like xxx\borderlands.exe "host-ip". then start the .exe

Anonymous October 31, 2009 7:44 AM

Detailed:

First of all, use IP connest!
It works like this:

Write the server ip adress after the "borderlands.exe"
in the shortcut, Total Commander, command line etc.

like :
D:\Game\2k games\Gearbox Software\Borderlands\Binaries\borderlands.exe 192.168.1.2
5.1.2.3, or else)

Network settings if needed: set the vpn networks metric to 10 ( check on internet if your system needs it or not, or just give it a try)

If the server has a rooter, or anything that blochs ports, you have to set port forwarding to the ports for the game ( search a bit back for them) This is wery important! you can do this for the clients aswell, but they should be able to connect.

Disable windows firewall, or if you have Win7 and you can configure it well, than do it!

Let the game pass all firewalls!

Anonymous October 31, 2009 7:51 AM

Sry 4 my english /sob

Anonymous October 31, 2009 7:54 AM

Oh and the IP connect is because the lan browser doesn't find the server sometimes...

anonymus October 31, 2009 9:01 AM

use the tool "ForceBindIP" then it works

Anonymous October 31, 2009 10:41 AM

IT WORKS PERFECT FOR ME ON HAMACHI

Anonymous October 31, 2009 12:17 PM

I did portforwarding and works great

Anonymous October 31, 2009 5:14 PM

for me it worked on hamachi^^ dont know why

Anonymous November 2, 2009 7:21 PM

If ppl are in lan and try it over hamachi it works... ofc
I have vista and 2 friends got windows 7 they can see each other but i can't see them :S we see each other over hamachi but not in game..

Anonymous November 3, 2009 4:25 AM

For those of you that got it to work, can you tell me what operating system you use? and whether or not you did it on hamachi over the internet with a virtual lan as opposed to an actual lan? Im trying to get this to run over the internet on hamachi's virtual lan and connect an xp machine to a windows 7 machine. Any info towards that end would be greatly appreciated.

Anonymous November 4, 2009 3:43 AM

ok you guys are not explaining this "server ip" thing propperly, do i put my own hamachi ip after the "C:\programfiles\2kgames\gearbox software\borderlands\binaries\boderlands.exe" 5.16.102.152? like this and its only the host that needs to do this?
or do the poeple that want to join the game have to do the same thing, i have the latest version of hamachi.

Anonymous November 4, 2009 5:46 AM

Stumbled across this page, thanks for the solution.

What I did:
Opened the ports mentioned above.

Still didn't work. So, followed the above suggestion, putting my friend's Hamachi IP after the location of the Borderlands.exe in the Target of a Borderlands shortcut. So it looked like this:

"E:\Program Files\2K Games\Gearbox Software\Borderlands\Binaries\Borderlands.exe" 5.xxx.xxx.xxx

Ran that, loaded me directly into his lobby.

Anonymous November 4, 2009 5:49 AM

^ Oh, I should add... this was with the latest version of Hamachi. So yes, it does work with it.

Anonymous November 5, 2009 4:47 PM

Hi !

So I am able to play at least wit one friend --> both using hamachi 1.0.3 and vista 64 bit
I just added HIS HAMACHI IP after the shortcut (e.g."C:\programfiles\2kgames\gearbox software\borderlands\binaries\boderlands.exe" 5.16.102.152) which I use to start borderlands
and when I start the game I get immediately connected to his server . it is even possible to join the game later on.

greetings

Anonymous November 5, 2009 5:53 PM

if anyone wants to send me 39.99 via paypal,
or in the mail i will give them detailed instructions
on how to play the game online.

Anonymous November 5, 2009 11:28 PM

Look just create yourself an gamespy id, ask your friend for his ingame nickname, add him to your friends list and invite him to your game...it should work.

Anonymous November 6, 2009 1:58 AM

I use Hamachi 2.0.1.66, I opened the ports, and my friend couldn't see me.
So I tried as said above, on the shortcut I have :
Target : "C:\Program Files\2K Games\Gearbox\Gamebox Software\
Borderlands\Binaries\Borderlands.exe" 5.*.*.* (the IP of my friend)
But it just launches the game normally, not loading his server directly, and not displaying it.
Any ideas why?

Anonymous November 6, 2009 9:53 AM

It worked for me as the host, behind a router with no forwarded ports. My friend just added my Hamachi IP to his shortcut, waited for me to start a LAN lobby, then double-clicked his shortcut. He got right in. I don't see why it would make a difference, but I'm using the Steam version of the game, he is not.

Anonymous November 8, 2009 12:22 AM

works fine for me now, latest hamachi, no open ports just went to cmd.exe and started borderlands.exe with the hosting dudes hamachi ip behind.
much easyer than opening ports and such crap :D

Anonymous November 8, 2009 3:54 PM

hamachi network : borderlands_8
pass: 1

i did everything i could, but i still can't connect, anyone wanna try?
my game is always on hosting, but DO msg me on hamachi if u want to play.

Anonymous November 9, 2009 11:50 PM

With the Host ip, Its Hamachi's IP correct?

Anonymous November 9, 2009 11:50 PM

Also i've tried to Forward my ports, but i have a Port Begining, Port End, and Port Map, and not to sure what values to put where

Anonymous November 10, 2009 8:11 AM

so basically you rename the borderlands.exe borderlands5.***.***.*.*.* then it will work
cuz i tried that n it doesnt
im using windows 7 btw

Anonymous November 12, 2009 11:09 PM

thx, works with new hama and windows 7, had to disable windows firewall and add ip to shortcut:)

multimolti November 14, 2009 3:24 AM

thanks, this tunngle works perfectly!!

Anonymous November 14, 2009 5:06 PM

Was able to join my friends game through Hamachi, but sometimes when he initiates travel I get disconnected. Is that a port issue or something?

Anonymous November 15, 2009 7:17 PM

omg can someone pls answer the damn question to how to do this without the other options god

just say wich ports should be open and the EXE walkthrough pls!

Anonymous November 22, 2009 10:16 AM

no more gamespy due to update... unless they make a no-cd patch for 1.01 borderlands.. till then

rémy November 22, 2009 6:20 PM

for those who are having difficulties to connect to their friends game, i made a small program to list ongoing games on current network and join them directly by specifying the IP address !

hope it can help some people !

ENTREM AI TODOS OS BRASILEIROS É UM SERVER NO HAMACHI

REDE:Bordelands-Brasileiro

Anonymous December 3, 2009 8:39 PM

senha 123

Anonymous December 4, 2009 1:05 AM

The gamespy way worked for me I can't see why it doesn't work for some people try to double check these steps carefully.

1.disable windows firewall
2.launch game go to "Online" not Lan.
3.hot private or public game by given it a name and waiting at the lobby
4.click on "invite" which will take you to another screen where you have to enter your friends gamespot User ID (nick name) NOT E-MAIL ADDRESS.
5.just click press A to add the user id of your friend then when he is online press "I" to invite him and return to the lobby and wait for him to connect easy.

Anonymous December 6, 2009 6:56 AM

Hamachi, latest version works fine, played for 2 hours straight using the "c:/borderlands.exe" 5.*.*.* Thank you for that btw. =D Happy Vault Hunting!

Anonymous December 6, 2009 5:43 PM

I've been using Hamachi, latest version, whatever that is, and then turned around and used ForceIP or whatever that program is called..
It's been working perfectly after I setup hamachi to be the first network, and shit like that. Great game. anyone got like, an open network, or anyone know of some networks? All those up at the top of the page are "full" and i went all the up to borderlands_12 and got into one.. but no one was there to play. bitches.

Anonymous December 10, 2009 1:27 AM

Hamachi works with borderlands. None of the above helped us with win7, finally it's:
make the hamachi-adapter top of priority list and delete the ipv4 gateway in it's settings.

Anonymous December 12, 2009 3:39 AM

Well, the thing about shortcut with added ip worked great when we first tried it ... but one day later , with no changes to borderlands, windows or the shortcut - it's no longer working. It looks like if windows or borderlands were ignoring the ip in the shortcut - before, when I tried to log to an non-existant server, borderlands at least written that i can't connect - now it just starts normaly, as if the ip wasnt there.

Pls, if someone knows this issue, help!

Anonymous December 13, 2009 6:34 PM
